SAIFM is a voluntary association registered as a NPO by the Department of Social Development and recognized by SAQA as a professional body for the financial markets.
SAIFM provides licensing examinations and other services to every category of membership as set out in its Charter which includes affiliate members, full members and corporate members (collectively called data subjects) for purposes of promoting the integrity and professionalism of the financial markets.
SAIFM’s policies and procedures are designed to ensure that the collection and storage of personal information of data subjects (including stakeholders and service providers) is lawful, reasonable and relevant to our business activities as required by the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013
Data subjects provide SAIFM with personal information on a contractual basis for the specific purpose to enable SAIFM to deliver the services required. Such personal information is retained for the benefit of clients. In addition, service providers who provide SAIFM with services required to fulfil its responsibilities to its clients and to promote its legitimate and lawful business activities (operators) also provide SAIFM with information that is treated in the same manner.
SAIFM is subject to regulatory requirements which may include the provision of personal information to any of the following regulatory authorities and stakeholders: the JSE, Strate, the FSCA, The Department of Social Development and SAQA. Membership data which includes personal information is uploaded regularly to SAQA as required by law.
SAIFM does not collect data from any of its websites and cookies are used merely to facilitate and allow the site to function in a completely anonymous way.
